'Standby Sams' are Good Sam members who volunteer to provide emergency advice and referrals to fellow members traveling through their area. There are more than 1,500 Standby Sams throughout the United States and Canada. You can access these good folks who are all volunteers if your are a member.
Good Sam Club info:
For you new RV'ers, you will find a lot of benefits joining the Good Sam Club. We have been members for many years. I can't ever remember a campground that we've been to that didn't give us a discount with our membership card. It's only a couple of bucks, however it is kind of a kick and savings do add up.
My wife does mention all the mail offers we get from them, so if your the type that hates junk mail, a Good Sam membership may not be for you. I on the other hand I like to review their new programs and some of them are pretty good.
"Highways" the monthly magazine (11 times annual) is one of the best. You will find a lot of useful information, from great destinations for RV'ers to helpful tips for trailer travelers and motor homers alike. They also do new product reviews on travel trailers, 5th wheels and motorhomes. It's kind of nice to keep abreast as to what is up-and coming and new RV's.
Once you join Good Sam club, it's only $19.95, you can access their web site and its pretty awesome.They have a forum there for members only. You can ask any question you want. The members are very friendly and helpful.
